Low energy and zero motivation? Read this..

If a plant isn’t growing, would you blame the plant? 🌱 Or would you first check if something’s off with its environment — like the soil, sunlight, temperature, humidity or nutrients?

So often, we blame ourselves for feeling stuck and stagnant instead of first checking if the outside factors are supportive of our growth.

If you’ve hit a plateau or even feel like you’re starting to wilt, consider these 5 shifts to turn things around:

  1. Are you consistently around someone who feels emotionally unsafe or energy draining? Time to create distance or even cut those ties (even if it’s family)

  2. Is your work or living space dark, small and suffocating? Declutter and/or repot yourself into a space where you can breathe and feel inspired.

  3. Do you spend most of your day indoors? The fastest way to elevate your energy is to get outside and connect with nature’s elements.

  4. Do you consume overwhelming amount of information on a daily basis? Give your mind non-negotiable pauses from screens and overstimulation. Reclaim your focus.

  5. Is your body running on a low quality fuel with little rest from digestion? Nourish and water yourself properly + don’t forget to add the fertilisers!

I am all in for radical self-responsibility — which includes assessing and potentially changing your environment (not to be confused with blaming the outside world for your problems & avoiding solutions).

We are part of nature, and just like any other living being, we’re influenced and shaped by our environments. So, if you’re feeling stagnant and have lost your motivation & creative flow, it might be time to raise your standards. This includes taking inventory of the people you’re surrounded by, your working and living conditions, the information you consume, and the fuel your body receives.

I recently found myself in a stagnant place, feeling like I was starting to wilt. At some point, I looked around and realized that, even for a short time, I co-created a reality that didn’t match who I aspire to be.

My routine started to look like this:
👎🏻 Glued to a computer screen in a small, dark, uninspiring space (excuse: “it’s temporary”).
👎🏻 Spending most of my time indoors and hardly moving my body (excuse: “it’s too cold/rainy outside”).
👎🏻 Ordering Uber Eats (excuse: “it’s convenient”).
👎🏻 Watching irrelevant IG reels and TV shows before sleep (excuse: “I need to unwind”).
👎🏻 Going to bed late, getting up late, and waking up feeling like 💩

Result: Insomnia, anxiety, low energy, zero motivation, lack of inspiration.

When self-integrity slips and standards are compromised, one thing leads to another, like a domino effect. Then—boom! How did I even get here?

But having turned things around more than once, I’m here to tell you: it’s fixable! If our choices led us into this uninspiring place, our choices can lead us out.

Being in a rut sucks, but (good news!) — there’s ALWAYS a way out. It’s just a matter of whether we’re willing to pay the price — be it with time, money, discipline, or cutting out certain people.

Now take a look around and ask:

  1. What parts of my environment are not conducive to my growth?

  2. Where can I raise my standards?

  3. What change (no matter how small) can I make today to start creating a reality that aligns with who I aspire to be?
